Born & raised Regina city girl whose been married for 10 years and a Mom to two busy, busy girls, one of which is a teenager (yelp!). Prefer experiences over things, but realize experiences need a lot more planning. Started budgeting & tracking our family’s spending and wishing I would have done sooner; still can’t give up my daily coffee purchase though.

We built our house by the lake with a golf course nearby to pound out my frustrations. Working on a retirement plan so I can entertain family and friends on my deck full time.
Former Marketing Manager and In-Game Host for the Saskatchewan Roughriders who still gets his football fix by taking his office fantasy football league a little too seriously. Moved to Regina after growing up in a small town of 275 people and now after 10 years of “big city living” and loose spending habits – I’m working on being a little more disciplined with my money to cover my mortgage payments while leaving some cash to spend on my social life, escape room obsession, movie theatre popcorn addiction and spoiling my two nephews.
… and yes, when you’re from a town with 8 streets and no gas station – Regina definitely qualifies as a “big city”!
When I’m not trying to kick start my musical career, I spend time coaching basketball, helping with my local youth group, and dabble in entrepreneurship. I grew up in the city of Moose Jaw, but love living in beautiful Lumsden, SK. As a valley dweller, I have the best of both worlds, 30 minutes from the lake, and 30 minutes from Starbucks.
I think money is not something to be obtained, but a tool to use. It’s the tool that lets me travel, donate to local causes, build a home recording studio, and buy more music gear. As a millennial, I used to regret not saving more when I was younger. I have recently realized that I have not missed my opportunity to save…on the contrary…I’m in the season of life where I can fully embrace the opportunities to save like never before! While proudly calling Regina my home, I also spend a lot of time in the mountains, at the cabin, or in Oakland watching the Raiders. When I’m not re-watching The Office for the 100th time, you can find me snowboarding, travelling or building a puzzle. As a newlywed, my husband and I are looking to make that move from crammed condo to house heaven. Although style, location and kitchen space are top of mind we also make budgeting and saving a priority as we make plans for our future together!
Born and raised in Regina, but preferring the big city vibe, I got my chance when I moved to Sydney, Australia for grad school. And then I realized there’s no place like home. So I came back to Regina, met my boyfriend, we bought a house and are now building a life here. When I’m not playing volleyball, softball, spending time with family or friends, reading, volunteering or doing one of a million other things, you can usually find me somewhere in the US or Australia or on a plane on my way. I’ve always been a planner – whether it’s for vacations or landscaping or renos, etc. and my monthly budget really helps me to get where I want to go. I’m a firm believer that anything is possible with the right tools and advice.
I was born and raised in small town Saskatchewan (Watrous) but have been calling Regina home for the last 12 years. Standing at 6’6”, basketball was always going to be part of my life… but I still can’t explain how I somehow became the province’s biggest Minnesota Timberwolves fan. When I’m not watching the most losing professional sports team in North America, you can usually find me out having a drink with friends or binging the newest Netflix show at home.
When it comes to finances, I’m the type of person who has never tried coffee because I’m afraid I’ll like it and will need to buy one every day. I’m also someone who only orders food from places that offer free delivery or somebody whose idea of treating themselves with their tax return is to immediately max out their TFSA contribution and put the rest towards their RRSP. That’s a type of person, right?
While I call Regina my home now, I moved to the Queen City from India three years ago. Canada welcomed me, my husband and daughter with a warm smile and open arms to build a new life here.
We call ourselves proud new Canadian Roadtrippers. I have interests in camping, kayaking, trail walks and everything outdoorsy that Saskatchewan has to offer! I also cook, dance like no one is watching and love decorating my new house with plants, plants and more plants.
From moving to a new country to buying a new house here in Regina, it has been an adventurous and fun ride so far. For me, it’s all about budgeting and managing our finances wisely, so that we continue this beautiful journey we are set out for without any roadblocks.
Recent Business Admin. graduate from the University of Regina. I have a passion for learning and being challenged. Having moved away from home for the first time this year, my passion is at an all-time high as I’m learning how to manage all of life’s new expenses and being challenged in the kitchen everyday (let’s just say I have burnt soup before). Netflix has made me realize I have a TV series addiction, but I’ve challenged myself to finish reading a minimum of three books this year. I love to travel and experience new things, but learning how to budget and save has been something new I’ve had to learn, now that I am no longer at home.
